What's being served at Todd Bentley's Florida Outpouring?

Self-Proclaimed "Revivalist" Todd Bentley's website describes his "ministry" and his "passion" this way...

The passion of Todd's life and ministry: is to see others set free through the anointing of the Holy Spirit and to see others come into the reality of intimate relationship with Jesus. He also desires to see Christ's body healed, equipped and rising up in the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great commission.

Really?? I would argue that that is a patently false statement! And I believe Todd's method of operation proves it!

I have watched the...
[+-] Expand/Collapse Post

...live footage of the "Florida Outpouring" Revival from Lakeland, Florida on GODTV for many nights now and have seen practically NO preaching or teaching of the Word of God by Mr. Bentley. In a basic count I did on paper, there was one mention of the name of Jesus (about 10 in three hours) for every two mentions (21) of the Holy Spirit. And in that same time there were over 200 mentions of glory, glory clouds, healings, signs, wonders, impartations, portals, angels, angelic visitations, etc..etc..

Mr. Bentley's continual M.O. (even before this so-called revival) has been to place great emphasis on dreams, visions, mystical revelations, angelic visitations, "impartations", and direct communication with the spirit-world through various new-age techniques including meditation and "seeing" into the "Spirit Realm". These types of unbiblical, antibiblical, and extrabiblical activities and "revelations" all originated in pagan ritual and/or Roman Catholic, Eastern Religion or New Age mysticism.

If Mr. Bentley is a "revivalist" that wants to see people in a relationship with Christ and to see those same people fulfilling the great commission, then why is there no preaching of repentance to speak of in Lakeland?

In fact, Mr. Bentley places such great emphasis on the supernatural that he CONSISTENTLY FAILS to quote scripture, preach or teach scripture, or read scripture... so much so, in fact that He also CONSISTENTLY FAILS to mention sin, repentance, the wrath and judgement of God toward sinners and false converts, and the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ which culminates in us being born again into New Life... which is what revival should be!

Charles Spurgeon said:

There are crowds of preachers and reverend divines now-a-days in the world; but all are not ministers of God who are so called... There are a thousand things that claim to be of the Holy Ghost; how can we know whether they are or not? Here is a simple mode of discovering... "He shall glorify me." (John 16:14)

Perhaps, in Florida, the Holy Spirit is so intent on "slaying" people and causing people to shake, quake and "vibrate" that He forgot to glorify Jesus and draw men to repentance. Maybe the Holy Spirit is so busy fixing hurt backs and knees etc. that He just doesn't want Todd to waste any time glorifying Jesus by preaching the inspired, revealed Word of God! Maybe the Holy Spirit has changed his mind about not glorifying Himself and now wants everyone to see His great deeds! Maybe He decided to put Jesus on the back-burner for awhile while He takes some credit for some "creative miracles" with signs like gold dust on clothing, olive oil seeping from pores, angel feathers falling from the rafters, or gold fillings miraculously appearing in your teeth!

I'm truly sad to say that the farthest I've seen Todd Bentley go toward "seeing others come into the reality of intimate relationship with Jesus" is when he takes one or two minutes (out of three or four hours) to pray a prayer that those who would like to "accept Jesus" should repeat.

Now some may not like this, but the bible never implies or states that simply leading a sinner in (or repeating) a sinner's prayer makes a sinner "good-to-go" in his "intimate relationship with Jesus"! Unfortunately, that's ALL that Mr. Bentley does. No explanation of sin, God's righteousness, justice, wrath, judgement, grace, etc... No Gospel at all. Just a prayer. And a false hope in that false prayer that leads a sinner with false emotions to a false conversion while he continues to store wrath up for himself.

Since watching the "Florida Outpouring" Revival for many nights, I've watched it go from venue to venue, and apparently grow into a new "revival" phenomenon which Charisma Magazine now generally associates with the "Toronto Outpouring" and the "Brownsville Revival" because of its length of continuance and the supposed miraculous signs, wonders and healings. Thankfully, though this new "outpouring" is not associated with any particular local church body or denomination so maybe some of the damage will be contained.

And that brings up another point! What's up, Steve Hill?
Sir, the fact that you would associate with this motley group of false prophets, false teachers, heretics, and new-age mystics saddens me and discredits anything positive I might have been able to think about your ministry!

Yes, I heard you saying you have a desire to see souls saved through this revival, but tell me... do you honestly believe that the healed toothache is what leads men to repentance?? Do you really think that souls will be saved en masse through false teachers and false prophets?!

By giving your "blessing" to Todd Bentley and this revival you have (by association) blessed the unbiblical and/or heretical ministries of the likes of Bob Jones, Joshua Mills, Patricia King, Rick Joyner, Paul Cain, John Arnott, Denny Cline, Benny Hinn, Bobby Connor, and many more who are continually bringing destructive heresies, false prophecies and dangerous ideas into the church.

And about your statement that the world is crying "Show me something (supernatural), Church, and I will believe"...???? What about Matt 12:38-39? If this evil and adulterous Phariseeic generation claims that they can't see our God without some hokey sign or worthless prophecy, it is (a) because they desire to remain in their sin, or (b) no one has preached the True Gospel to them (Romans 10:14-17) or (c) because they have been promised liberty and been deceived by these false teachers who "will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness."

So unless Todd Bentley decides to let the life-giving, refreshing, reviving, Gospel of Jesus come out from under his tired, "been-there, done-that-Third Wave-Outpouring" to get some air, he will continue to drown out any hope for true revival that results, not in signs and wonders and angelic visitations, but in repentance and in faith in Jesus Christ alone for any hope of righteousness and salvation.

2Timothy 4:2-5 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

I believe that if Steve Hill had known about Mr. Bentley's heretical teachings he would not have endorsed him...sadly a number of Godly men have relied on other Godly men and endorsed Mr. Bentley without investigating his doctrine beforehand. Ministers are, after all, human beings and most of them are so very busy with their ministries that to take days to reserach each minister, is just not something they have had time for...sadly, this time, Steve Hill moved a bit too quickly...but does that give you the right to point a finger of condemnation in his direction? I think not...God is the judge and perhaps you should put your finger back in the holster until you have spent more time parying and asking God what He thinks? Compassion is a good thing...

Anonymous said, referring to pastors and (Steve Hill specifically),... "most of them are so very busy with their ministries that to take days to reserach each minister, is just not something they have had time for..."

It is the responsibility of ALL ministers to be prayerful and sure that what we endorse is biblical.

Wouldn't you MAKE TIME to make sure everything was straight before you ever got up in front of a stadium full of people to give an endorsement to the world???

I did not condemn Steve Hill. I said I was saddened because his ministry is heretofore discredited in my eyes because I held him in some regard and He associated himself with this false revivalist and his associates.

Compassion IS a good thing, but it is irrelevant in this discussion. (Although I should have compassion for his congregation if he preaches the same things he endorses!)

What does "compassion" really have to do with me calling Steve Hill out for deciding to stand on a stage in front of 10,000 people, holding hands with a proven heretic, mystic and false prophet.

To tell the world (it was broadcast in satellite, internet feed, cable, etc) that he gives his "blessings", and that Todd Bentley and this revival are of God, is an error that will have grave consequences in his ministry, his church, the Assemblies of God, and untold numbers of souls that trust him and his word.

I'm not sure why you think I have not been prayerful in regard to this mess, and God has already told me what he thinks of false prophets and those that support them in Jeremiah 14 & Jer. 23, Lam. 2, Ezekiel 22, Matt 7, Matt 24, etc, etc.

No sir... I believe I'll keep my finger out until Steve Hill publicly denounces what he said and/or the Assemblies of God denounce Steve Hill for saying it.
(I personally believe they should make an official statement condemning the "revival" but they will have a hard time doing it now that one of their top pastors has endorsed it!)

I'll be here until this mess STOPS... fueled on by these types of comments.

I've been following these "Lakelanders" over at Onward/Forward/Toward for the past few weeks. These guys are nutbars, pure and simple.

Next story I write with a crazy preacher-man, I'm going to name him "Lakeland".

Sadly, the preaching of the Word is becoming rare today in a lot of charismatic/ Pentecostal churches. Usually, it is one passage, and the Bible gets put down for the rest of the sermon while the minister gives his take on the passage. Gone are the days when Scripture was used to interpret Scripture.

This is why these ministers are given to flights of fantasy. I recall the pastor in my (former) church, stating he wanted to close down a local porn shop. That was admirable, but the "how" was bizarre. He said he wanted everyone in the church to tie a purple ribbon on the antenna of their car, and drive around the porn shop for a 1/2 hour that Sunday. He said it was "proven" that this really works.

I asked, "How???" I received no answer.

Guess we prolifers have missed the mark being abused outside abortion clinics, harangued by pro-abortion police - when all we had to do was have the right color ribbon attached to our car antenna! Beyond prolife - what of the preaching of the Gospel? I wonder what color ribbon will cause city's to get saved? Maybe red? We just drive our cars with a red ribbon attached to our antennas around the Washington DC beltway - and all our politicians will become Christians! Who knew it could be so easy? I thought I had to follow the Biblical mandate to "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel .."

But then ... that would actually involve reading the Word of God wouldn't it?

Oh well ...

Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship ( www.tacf.org) a charity founded by John Arnott filed in 2007 a $ 50 million dollar lawsuit against Walter Kambulow of Burlington Ontario claiming THAT TACF AND IT’S PASTORS:

have suffered and will continue to suffer damages, their character and reputation, personally and in the way of their profession, office or calling, have wrongly been brought into public disrepute, their public and general reputation has been and will continue to be seriously damaged, and they have been subjected to embarrassment, ridicule and contempt.

have had and will continue to have a detrimental effect on the ability of TACF to continue to serve its members and on the ability of Arnott and Long to continue to perform their work as pastors

This statement of TACF is not only a lie out of the pits of hell but perjury because there has been no proven detrimental effect on the ability of TACF to continue to serve its members and on the ability of Arnott and Long to continue to perform their work as pastors.

And it's also a fact that TACF Solicitors could not prove to the Superior court of Ontario that John Arnott and Steve Long have suffered and will continue to suffer damages, their character and reputation, personally and in the way of their profession, office or calling, have wrongly been brought into public disrepute, their public and general reputation has been and will continue to be seriously damaged, and they have been subjected to embarrassment, ridicule and contempt

All this THIS MAKES TORONTO AIRPORT CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP THE HOME OF LIARS AND PERJURERS IN REVIVAL! See http://tbtacf.tripod.com/revival.pdf

I'm still very much undecided about what all of this means, I'm reading a lot of mixed opinions and I definitely have my warning alarms going off regarding the whole matter. Part of me wants to believe that everything that is happening in Florida is genuine, but part of me knows that even if some of it is, there will definitely be counterfiets amongst it.

Whether Bentley himself is the facilitator of the counterfiet is another issue. From what I know of his doctrine and personal experiences, it seems a bit off, but if he has a real relationship with God through Jesus Christ, then isn't that what counts? I mean, does any one man, minister or not, have EVERYTHING right? The angel stuff is probably of highest concern, considering the massive movement of angel worship happening lately. I pray that this does not deceive people, and that God has his way, whatever the truth may be.

I am grieved greatly by the severe lack of understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ today in America. This current situation in Lakeland only shows that Frank Peretti was almost prophetic when he wrote the book, THE VISITATION back in 1999. (If you want to have a good handle on what is happening, read the book)

The Lord gave me an article a number of years ago based on the last verse of Judges.

Jdg 21:25 In those days [there was] no king in Israel: every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes.

It is where America lives in this present day; and the church is just as deeply affected by this apostasy as any other group, if not more so.

It is as though these preachers think, no, believe that it does not matter what they say as long as they are called Christians and Prophets and Apostles, etc. No one will judge their words, (for of course, we cannot judge anyone, can we?)

Most people who claim to be Christian, say they believe the Bible, but all you have to do to dfond the truth of the matter is ask them about a few verses and you will immediately find out they do not believe it at all; just what man claim it means, not what the Bible actually says.

Here is one example>>>

The vast majority of Christians are taught to say they abide in Christ Jesus. These pastors and preachers like Bentley definitely do. Yet, what does the Scripture say about those who abide in Him?

1Jn 2:6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

Is that how they live? Did Jesus demand a First Class Hotel whenever He was on a "evangelistic crusade"? Jesus of course was always paid very well for His words and teaching and He only provided His books to those who could afford them.

Jesus never allowed Himself to be part of the crowd, to mingle with ordinary people because He would have lost His anointing, don't you know.

Do I need to continue?

And there are many, many more verses that prove most Christians do not really believe the Bible, but only man's idea of what it says. They do not live by it, nor do they allow the Holy Spirit to live the Life of Jesus Christ through them on this earth.

So until we all begin to repent from our arrogance, duplicity, and self-centered righteousness and allow the Lord to truly crucify us so that the Old man is truly dead and then HE can resurrect the NEW MAN created in Righteousness and Holiness in Himself within us so that we do indeed live in the manner the Bible says the New Testament believers lived, we will continue to receive those like Bentley and Cain and Jones who claim to be Christian but preach another gospel.

We are truly at the end of the GREAT FALLING AWAY and the vast majority of "christians" don't even know that the Bible is referring to them when it speaks of this time.

We must repent from our reliance on man and return to ABSOLUTE dependence on God and God ALONE!

May the Lord Himself reveal Himself to us all as HE TRULY IS and may we be able to see, accept, and receive that revelation to such an extent that HE revolutionizes our very lives.

Have we cleansed the inside of the cup, or have we only cleansed the outside just like the Pharisees did?

People who present themselves as some type of preacher like Bentley are being accepted because we as Christians have left the safety of Jesus Christ. Until we return to Him, we deserve what we get.

One last thing>>> The time is VERY Short. Soon, in fact, it is probably already occuring where those who do not love the ABSOLUTE TRUTH of the scriptures are being deluded by a spirit that comes from God Himself. (See II THes 2)

Many of them will never be able to even see the truth again, let alone repent. Perhaps we all need to become much less reliant on ourselves and ONLY depend on the Lord, not some preacher, pastor, prophet, teacher, apostle, or any other man. They have all made mistakes.

Only Jesus is the reliable One; Only He has NEVER been wrong.

God bless you all

It is very ironic how these heretics are praying for fire to come down upon them. Well the only fire from God is JUDGMENT, the fires of hell. The verse talking about baptizing with the Holy Spirit and with fire is talking about the separation of the wheat and the tares and how the saved receive the Holy Spirit, but the unrepentant will receive the fires of hell.

2Th 2:9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

GOD IS GIVING US TIME TO REPENT, BUT IF WE CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THE LIE OVER THE TRUTH OF HIS ONLY REVELATION THE HOLY BIBLE, THEN ONE DAY HE WILL GIVE US OVER TO THE LIE WE DESIRE AND THE ABOVE VERSE SPEAKS OF THE ENDS OF THAT PERSON.

What's being served at Todd Bentley's Florida Outpouring is SWINE AND MOUSE FLESH, UNCLEAN MEATS, DO NOT TAKE OF IT, IT CARRIES SPIRITUAL DISEASES, ABOMINATIONS TO THE LORD.

2Cr 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed
2 Cr 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you

Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire...
Isa 66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

You are going to want to read all the way through this... how it ends will amaze you.

I came across your blog just looking for what people have been saying about the revival. I live in the Tampa Bay area, pastored my own church these past 6 years, but recently blended ours in with another local church after feeling a leading of God to focus full-time on helping to equip this emerging generation.

I've been to the revival twice since it started... first time was about the 3rd week or so, and we went to the morning service. 2nd time was last night with our pastor and a church leader over several churches in Liberia, Africa. We'd heard the negative stuff from some friends, and we'd heard positive from other friends. I watched for about 3 hours one Saturday night to see for myself (and to pass input onto our pastor), as many in the church were asking our opinion. I can say that I'm glad that I've been both times.

Now, I can tell from your comments that many of you come from mainline denominations... at least, that is the slant that you come across with. I must say that I'm amused that so many of the stronger comments come from those of you who decided to not share your names. I say, if you are going to be so opinionated -- and think that it's important enough to take the time to actually post a comment -- why not be brave enough to leave your name as well?

As I was reading your comments, I couldn't help but think of a portion of scripture out of Acts... 4:14-22 to be exact, which reads:

"But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. "What are we going to do with these men?" they asked. "Everybody living in Jerusalem knows they have done an outstanding miracle, and we cannot deny it. But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn these men to speak no longer to anyone in this name." Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.
For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old."

I say that many of you sound dangerously close to making the same mistakes that the Sanhedrin were making. God IS in the healing business today -- you can not deny that. So, what are you doing with what is taking place? It goes against the grain, so you automatically say that it's not God and that He wouldn't move that way. You nit-pick things to death... kind of like looking for the letter of the law instead of the intent behind it. Again, sound familiar? If it were our day and age that God decided to send His Son, with the criteria that you all are using, how many of us would miss the fact that He was in our midst? Makes ya think, doesn't it?

How do I know that what is taking place there is genuine? Well, like I said I went with my pastor last night. For the first couple of hours we were in worship that was ALL Jesus-centered. That is something that I went looking for. And slowly, and amazingly -- you could tell it wasn't planned out this way -- the focus shifted to God as our Father, and His love for us and our response to that love. It was amazing -- we sang "You are holy" over and over as a congregation without leading of the worship team (who were on their faces before God) for a good 45 minutes. The weight of God's presence was so strong.

Well, when Todd began to minister he mentioned how he was not going to preach, but move right into where God seemed to be leading -- healing and words of knowledge. These were very focussed and specific... as a minister you'd have to be a lunatic to stand up there and address specifics like that in front of a crowd like that, if Someone were not telling you what to say.

About 10:30pm or so, Todd said, "There is someone here who has been deaf in one ear for 34 years... whoever that is come up here right now, God's going to heal you." The only one to stand and come forward was my pastor, Rev Brian Burgee of Rock Church of Tampa Bay. As he was making his way up, Todd then said that God wanted him to pray over pastors for an impartation, and that God showed him that he was to release the anointing for revival over Knoxville, TN and Baltimore, MD. Then he says, "Is there anyone here from Baltimore, MD?" As he is saying this my pastor is now at the top of the steps talking to a staff person. Thing is, he is: 1)a pastor, 2)from Baltimore, MD and 3) has been deaf in his right ear for 34 years.

The amazing thing about this is that it was 34 years ago to the day (Tuesday, May 27th) that he lost his hearing. He was a drug addict and involved in an event where a gun was fired next to his head. The bullet grazed his head and his eardrum was blown out from the bang. He knows it was 34 years to the day, because it was 4 days later that he gave his heart to the Lord -- on June 1st, 1974.

Todd prayed over him, and he came up with his hearing completely restored!!! He can now hear better in his right ear than in the one that was OK all these years!

Now, how do you explain that away? What scripture would you use to refute God's mercy poured out in healing? He didn't go seeking the healing, he didn't conjure anything up. He was simply there to bring another church leader from another part of the world who was coming into town and wanted to check it out. He was sitting there quietly and jotting some things down in his journal as this word of knowledge came forth -- no hype, nothing.

Do you want to see this for yourself? God to check out the video of this taking place at this link: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdMlnlFQvcg

This blog has not said that healings are false, or that there have been no healings at Lakeland.
Nor will we seek to disprove any.

I'm sure there have been people healed, and I'm sure more will come around saying they have been healed. So, Ok... I'm glad the worship was good. I'm glad you had a good time at the revival. And I'm glad your pastor was healed.

Now that that's out of the way,
I must say that nothing you said and nothing that's happened (including your pastor's healing) changes anything on this blog.

Todd Bentley STILL teaches, believes in, and promotes unscriptural teachings.

He still has heretical articles and videos available from his website.

He still fails to preach a clear message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the bible commands.

Depending on when you tune in, there is little to no sin, repentance and faith preached to bring people to a true conversion and new birth.

He is in fellowship with heretics, sexual deviants, false prophets, and false teachers

And many of his spiritual heros are heretics, drunks, false prophets and false teachers.

And he regularly twists scripture all over the place causing it to bend to the point he wants to make.

And he himself is a false prophet and a heretic and a blasphemer.

And on, and on....

Until the day that Todd Bentley himself stands in front of his camera and publicly repents from his previous errors and heresies and tells the world that he was wrong... AND until the day AFTER THAT when he preaches a clear consistent gospel message, leading people to Christ rather than to healing, I will continue to warn people about him and encourage them to stay AWAY from him and his revival.

Sir, psychics all over the world can tell you "secret" things about yourself or others.

Shamans, witches, voodoo workers, pagans, wiccans, etc have all had verified healings.

So how can we tell that the Florida Outpouring should be avoided? By the Word of God, and it says to avoid false teachers! (Just do a little googling and looking around on Todd Bentley's site.)

Don't be deceived. Do you really think that your pastor's healing makes the Florida Revival a true move of God?

God is consistent. When the people respond to His Word bringing Him a sacrifice of humility, godly sorrow for sin, repentance of the heart, and a cry for mercy and forgiveness, God is moved and offers them life freely based of the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus.

That is true revival. Just ask Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, the Wesleys, Spurgeon, etc. Miracles have been known to occur when people repent... but God doesn't want a healing revival! He wants a salvation revival!

A church service SHOULD BE ALL about Jesus...

A sermon SHOULD BE ALL about Jesus...

A "revival" especially SHOULD BE ALL about Jesus...

Not a little about Jesus to make a point or to give an air of authority to the speaker
and MUCH MORE about the healing (as it is every night at the Lakeland "Florida Outpouring" and by your comment above as it was last night.) Saying "in the name of Jesus" and We love you Jesus" is not a gospel message. Jesus is NOT being preached at the Florida Outpouring... He is being "name-dropped".

I was in Toronto when My wife called and told me to log on God TV to watch Todd Bently and the Lakeland Revival.
It was in the first days when God TV started covering it. I watched and at first I felt that I wanted to get to Lakeland and get the impartation, (I was in Toronto on a three week business trip from Malta, as in Acts 28.)I was staying at a hotel by the airport. I decided to go to the TACF. Pat King was ministering, she was calling out healings such as migrains and back aches and stuff like that. At that very same moment there was a boy in a wheel chair who seemed to maneuver the wheelchair like he was in it for most of his life, he was running allover the place. I thought If Jesus was really there that boy would be the first one He would heal.
Back at my hotel room as I prayed and searched for a flight and accommodation in Lakeland, I was watching the Revival. Every one there including Todd were calling God to send His fire, but they kept on and on crying out "Lord send your fire, Lord send your fire"
It reminded me when Baal's prophets were calling their god to send fire and no fire came down, the tattoos and piercings on Bently reminded me how the false prophets were cutting themselves, and still no fire came down. Well I saw no fire coming down in Lakeland. When the prophet of the God of Abraham, Isaak and Israel cried out to God to send the fire, immediately tangible fire came down and consumed the bull and all that was under it.
They are still calling for fire in Lakeland, I have watched many nights and not once have I seen fire come down. Just because man says that fire came down, do they mean invisible fire?
I also heard them numerous times saying "God send us your Glory" "We want your Glory"
God is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. All the Glory belongs to Him.

I am a sinner saved by grace just like most of you, I love Jesus, He said that His sheep hear his voice. If you are His sheep you will have no problem discerning a counterfeit Sheppard! Thank you Jesus.

Excellent point David. We are here to "glorify" God - not the other way around.

I believe the Biblical precedent for "wanting God's glory" was Lucifer just before he was kicked out of heaven. Ezek 28:17 speaks of fire - except that fire was judgment, and it destroyed everything.

Todd should be careful what he asks for.

Hi guys,

I'm not a regular in this forum. I checked this website because I'm doing some researches about Todd Bentley and Lakeland outpouring. Unfortunately, I am living in Australia now making it too far to check the revival myself. However when I was living in States a few years ago ,I used to go to Pensacola revival and got blessed. Honestly, I am a bit "cautious" with Todd and his "unique" teaching and way of ministering. But that does not mean that he is a false prophet. I am not a Todd fan and I'm not endorsing him in anyway. Simply because I'm not 100% certain about his doctrines. I read so many endorsement from many respected ministers, Like Rick Joyner, John Kilpatrick, Steve Hill, Che Ahn, etc. I know "big names" doesn't mean that they're always right. However, what I want to say is not to hastily speak about judgment towards our brother, but to take time to pray and to test the Spirit. I warn my fellow bros and sis here not to be gullible but not to be judgmental as well. Let's pray that God will open our eyes to see the truth, and use us to shine lights to the world. Thanks guys. Your postings are such a blessing. God bless...

Why are so many people making comments about things they know nothing about!
Wanting God's glory to come down is what happened when God met with the high priest when He descended in His glory cloud above the Ark. It's a manifestation. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and can and does do the same now. To have the glory of God show up has to be a magnificent tangible presence.
So whoever posted that it should be us glorifying God, not the other way round, has no clue. We can glorfy God in all we do, as everyday should be our worship to Him.
And as for not seeing visible fire...come on! The fire of God is cleansing, purging, and sanctifies us. Its a purifying fire. When the Holy Spirit comes upon people with fire (which is biblical) there are many manifestations as the flesh struggles to contain it.
Glory to God for Todd Bentley.

This is to JON SHARP.

Jon you clearly have not been listening to what Todd has been preaching, either that or you do not know your bible (which concerns me being a pastor whodebates on here). Todd has constantly refered to scripture and i challenge you to prove otherwise.
while you reading this take a look at this article as well:
Todd Bentley

This is a circular message:
To all of you who are sadly blinded to, threatened by, deceived and missing out on what God is doing in the Florida Outpouring, there is nothing disturbing, new or outrageous about this move of God, it is clear the bible is full of it…. What does this mean then, that your word of God is ok if it is in black and white print but that God is a God of word and not power though? Why is it that so many are afraid of what God is doing through this man of God called Todd Bentley? And why is it that so many are more concerned with trying so hard to look for any errors or ‘slip ups’ in order to try and discredit both the man and what is happening instead of focusing on what God is actually doing?
Look at the fruits of what is happening, look at the fruits of Todd Bentley because by his fruits you will know him (Matthew 7 v 15-20). Look at v.18 “a bad tree cannot bear good fruit”. Therefore, if Todd is a false prophet then how can he produce such good fruit? Look at the thousands of lives that have been, and are being changed, saved and healed. This cannot be denied. How can you claim this is not of God? If this is not of God then it can only be from one other...the devil. (Matthew 12 v 24-28) “if satan casts out satan he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?” So many are being delivered from demonic strongholds and only God can do this. Anyone that has the Spirit of God in them will have this witness to their spirit.
I am nothing short of shocked and appalled at how some can say and publicise such hurtful, evil things than what I have seen on this website. It is quite clear that what has been said is not in The Spirit. (Matthew 12 v 32) “whoever speaks against the holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him”. Those of you who speak out against what the holy Spirit is doing are heaping burning coals on your heads.
So many of you say we should keep referring to the ‘truth’ of the scriptures and not signs and wonders and manifestations, yet this is the truth of the scriptures?...they are full of this. (Mark 16v 20) “ confirming the word through accompanying of signs”. This is exactly what Todd is doing. Don’t say there is not enough teaching on the word or reference to Jesus and the scriptures when everything he does is based on scripture, but you prefer to have seen one small part and blow this out of proportion.
(Mark 16 v 14) Jesus rebuked the unbelief and hardness of heart when they did not believe when they had seen Jesus after He had risen. It’s interesting to read that Jesus went on to say that “These signs will follow those who believe. In My name they will cast out demons”.
Jesus was rejected by His own, and the Pharisees were full of unbelief despite knowing the scriptures themselves. The more Jesus did His Father’s will and healed and did signs and wonders, the more the Pharisees were offended and could not handle it.

Why are you shocked at some of Todd’s methods? Actually they are not his methods as such but God’s as he is being obedient to God’s voice. If Todd had spat in someones eyes (Mark 8v 23) and grabbed a load of mud and rubbed it in someone’s eyes (John 9 v 6) it would cause an uproar with some of you, but the fact that Jesus himself did this is an example of how God chooses to act. It was ok for Jesus to throw over tables in the temple in righteous anger and use a whip to drive out the people from it (John 2 v 15). Yet somehow it goes against the grain when a servant of God does something out of the ordinary. Who are you to decide how God wants to do something? Did Smith Wigglesworth offend you in the same way? In fact why does a method have to be in the scriptures to begin with? Does it say in scripture to place your hand on the affected part only? Does it specify to place your hand on the head? Does it say you must only use mud and saliva on a particular blind man? More to the point is being obedient to what God is telling you to do. This is what Christ did (John 5 v 19) “ the Son can do nothing by Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever he does, the Son also does in like manner”. Jesus also said “he that believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do” (John 14 v 12)

• To those of you who speak out against the way Todd has been overcome by the power of God and drunk in the Spirit:
Acts 2 v 13-22.
v.13: “they are full of new wine”. Onlookers believed they were drunk.
v.15: “for these men are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day”. Peter explains they they are not drunk as onlookers thought.
• To those of you who think signs and wonders are not of God or that we should not be looking at them:
Hebrews 2 v 4: “God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders”.
Matthew 10 v 8: “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons”.
Mark v 16 v 20: “confirming the word through accompanying of signs.
Acts 2 v 17-19: “...I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and sings in the earth beneath..”.
• To those of you who state Todd has approved of ‘astral projection’, even though he never said this, and was actually referring to being taken in the Spirit
Ezekial 37 v1: “the hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the midst of the valley...”.
• To those of you who claim that the receiving of messages from angels and talking to them and receiving from them is not biblical:
Daniel 9 v 22: “ and he informed me, and talked with me, and said ‘O Daniel,I have now come forth to GIVE you skill to understand’”.
Daniel 10 v 10 onwards:
v.14: “now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come”. A clear example of the messenger angel foretelling what is to come.
v.18: “ then again, the one having the likeness of a man TOUCHED me and STRENGTHENED me”. Read the bible, it’s full of encounters! Angels are messengers and carriers of God’s word and CAN impart to us and are used by God, just as we are used by God. There’s nothing new age about this, they are God’s ministers.
• To those of you who claim Todd and others (Rick Joyner) have ‘fantasy trips’ to heaven and we all lack discernment if we fall for this:
Revelation (the whole book): is just that. Who are we to say God cannot reveal anything else in the Spirit to anyone? How else does God get His message to us!
To all those who
• To those who claim the ABC Nightlife report had exposed Todd for what they believed he was and caused Todd to take time off:
After doing meetings every night for 4 months don’t you think a little rest is acceptable then? There was nothing negative about this report at all. It exposed nothing than what you would expect from a secular news channel. We know not everyone gets healed where others do. The accusation that Todd did not provide medical records to verify healings...oh come on! We all know these are confidential and names of doctors etc cannot be revealed. Todd’s past is irrelevant, as is anyone elses. Romans 8 v 1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit”. Any condemnation pointed towards Todd is from the evil one.
• To those that think the Florida Outpouring is theatrical and healings should be done in the quiet, secret place:
1Corinthians 2 v 4: “ And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but with the DEMONSTRATION of the Spirit and of power”. Why on earth would we want to keep the power of God to ourselves instead of making sure everyone knows about it?
• To all those that state Todd Bentley is quiting the revival:
There is an anointing upon Todd to impart this in other cities and countries. The revival is not just for Lakeland but is global as Todd stated from the very beginning, or did you forget that? There is an open heaven at Lakeland at the moment and it will still be there when Todd moves on.
• To those of you that presumed they heard Todd say Jesus would reveal Himself to all in the flesh:
First things first……..the prophesy Todd read out about the visitation of Jesus was not prophesied by himself, so that’s one grave error.
Todd also read out that it would be a personal ‘ONE TO ONE’ visitation. Just in case this is confusing to you, this means it is not a corporate visitation for ALL to see at once but a ‘personal’ ‘one to one’. ‘One to one’ means just the two of you together….I would have thought this is basic stuff but however.
Next, Todd read out that it would be a personal ‘visitation’ and did not state once that it would be Jesus in the flesh. Visitations have been a common thing, and is scriptural, and Jesus can appear to many in the Spirit.

It’s time to not just read your bible, but to understand it and live it. If you’re expecting God to be rational and logical and to only do what your human mind can comprehend then you will be waiting forever and you may as well throw your bible away because there is nothing logical or rational about God in there. God is outside the box and for some reason many cannot cope with this and have to put God back in it so that they feel safe in their comfort zone. Putting God in a box will only quench what the Spirit can do in your lives.
There are countless occasions in the bible when God decides to do things differently and exceeds the ordinary. Who are you to decide how God wants to do something? What are the fruits in your life? What is God doing through you in your life? What signs and wonders are you seeing through your life? How many are you healing in Jesus name in your life? How many of the enemies strongholds are you breaking down in in your life? How many are being brought to Christ in your life? HOW MANY DEAD ARE BEING RAISED IN YOUR LIFE? Don’t feebly criticize a man of God, who is doing all of this in the name of Jesus and is revealing the fruits in his life, just because you don’t understand it and feel unrighteously offended.
To finish with...the amount of people locked into futile debates and unrighteous discussions and making very nasty comments is the only thing here that is clearly not of God. Todd Bentley is not perfect and will make mistakes..just like you! And there is not one person alive that won’t make a mistake. So look beyond the man and to Jesus who is in this.

It is true that Christian Pentecostal pastors are too often as bad as the non Pentecostal Christian ones too.. 55 percent of the evangelcial Pastors now seem to admit to adultery, and 70 percent of them counsel divorce, and God hates both of these sins still too. But now still God himself shows no partiality to anyone..

But the discriminatory Baptist Sen. Charles Grassley clearly another false Pentecostal basher and hater wrongfuly now did not agree to having all major evangelical pastors in the united Sates annually reviewed, for tax evasions, misappropriations of funds instead he chose to review it seems only the word of faith believing Christian Pentecostal preachers.. simpl;y such unfair, unacceptable hypocritical demand if his still now too..
