I never thought that I would say what I am about to say. I never would have said this to anyone before, perhaps even if a gun was pointed at my head! I know that not many of my readers will believe this is coming from me, but I must say it. And the really unbelievable thing is that I actually MEAN it!

That's right! And I have come to believe it with all of my heart.

I recently posted an article based on a Pew Forum study which polled 35,000 Americans on matters of their faiths and religions.

In that article Jehovah's Witnesses are overwhelmingly shown to do more "Christian" activity and believe more "Christian" doctrine than ALL Protestant Christians in America combined!

[+-] Expand/Collapse Post

• 16% of Jehovah's Witnesses say "many religions can lead to eternal life"
--------- versus 66% of Protestant Christians

• 18% of Jehovah's Witnesses say "there is more than one true way to interpret the teachings of my faith"
--------- versus 64% of Protestant Christians

• 82% of Jehovah's Witnesses "believe that God is a person with whom people can have a relationship"
--------- 53% of Protestant Christians

• 89% of Jehovah's Witnesses "pray daily"
--------- versus 78% of Protestant Christians

• 82% of Jehovah's Witnesses "attend religious services at least once a week"
--------- versus 50% of Protestant Christians

• 93% of Jehovah's Witnesses "say the Bible is the Word of God"
--------- versus 77% of Protestant Christians

• 83% of Jehovah's Witnesses say they "read the Bible outside of religious services"
--------- versus 48% of Protestant Christians
• 82% of Jehovah's Witnesses say they "Participate in prayer groups, Scripture study groups or religious education programs."
--------- versus 33% of Protestant Christians

• 76% of Jehovah's Witnesses say they "Share their faith with non-believers at least weekly."
--------- versus 28% of Protestant Christians

• 36% of Jehovah's Witnesses say they "Receive a definite answer to a specific prayer request at least weekly."
--------- versus 24% of Protestant Christians

• 77% of Jehovah's Witnesses say "abortion should be illegal in most or all cases"
--------- versus 49% of Protestant Christians

• 76% of Jehovah's Witnesses say "Homosexuality is a way of life that should be discouraged by society"
--------- versus 51% of Protestant Christians

• 90% of Jehovah's Witnesses say they "DISAGREE that Evolution is the best explanation for the origins of human life on earth"
--------- versus 58% of Protestant Christians

I am sad to say that I know that these are true numbers. I know several Jehovah's Witnesses and I see them LIVING THEIR FAITH while my Protestant "Christian" friends regularly and consistently FAIL to do the "stuff" we would classify as "Christian Activity"! Now the Pew Forum poll backs up my observations!

The biblical proof that the vast majority of self-proclaimed "Christians" are not truly saved is that even though they call themselves "Christian", they have never "sold all and followed Jesus Christ"! They have never "picked up their cross". They have never been"crucified with Christ". They have never been "born again". They are not "known" by Jesus Christ.

Therefore the majority of people sitting on pews in American churches are NOT Christians...
the majority of those who call themselves "Christian" are NOT really saved!

What about YOU? How do you KNOW you are REALLY saved? You may call yourself a Christian, but are you really a Christian? The word "Christian" means "Christ-follower"... Yet most who call themselves "Christian" NEVER follow Jesus Christ!

Do you do what He has commanded us to do? Have you gone where He has commanded us to go?
Hey, Peter,... Do you love Him?, Do you LOVE Him?, DO YOU LOVE HIM?.... Do you "feed His Sheep"? Do you "preach the Gospel"? Do you "teach & make disciples"? Is He really Lord to you? (Your Master, Boss, King, and Ruler), or do you simply call Him "Lord, Lord..." when, in fact, He has never even known you and you have never loved Him?

Have you really repented (turned away) from your sin? Have you ever put to death your own will to submit to His authority? Or are you still on good terms with your sin and with the sinners?

To millions of self-proclaimed "Christians", it feels good to be able to say "I'm a Christian" without having to lay down their sin in repentance!

Statistics have shown that around 80 percent of the US would readily call themselves "Christian" yet only 20% of those 80% are regularly in church and only 2% are regularly, verbally sharing their faith.

It looks to me like "Christian" is what everyone wants to call themselves but not "be".

While it is perfectly Biblical and good to call believers "Christians", (Acts 11:26, I Peter 4:16) I personally have come to a place where I do not very often refer to myself (or those I believe to be true converts) as "Christian"!

I nearly exclusively refer to myself as being "in Christ" or "born again" as opposed to the term "Christian" because that's how I see the Bible describe us, and we "must be born again".

Why don't I call myself "Christian"?... Because the majority of the United States (including Jehovah's Witnesses) believes they are "CHRISTIANS" while it's plain to see that the overwhelming majority are not "in Christ" or "born again".

Quite frankly, in the eyes of the world, I want to be set FAR apart from the 80% of "Christians" in the United States who refuse to repent, believe, obey, fellowship or share their faith!

So yes, I truly believe the Jehovah's Witnesses really are better "Christians" than most of "us"!

But that is not the important issue! You must understand that the Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT "in Christ",... the Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT "born-again",... the Jehovah's Witnesses are serving a FALSE God and know of a FALSE Christ,... and even though they may call themselves "Christian", Jesus Christ will one day tell each of them "Depart from me ye workers of iniquity,... I NEVER KNEW YOU!"

What about you, Mr. Protestant? Are you one of the few "good Christians" in the poll? Do you consistently do the right stuff?

Do you look at the numbers above and thank God that you are "not like the publican" because you pray daily and share your faith and go to church every week like a good Christian should?

True converts who are "in Christ", WILL live in repentance, obedience and faith!

The question is, are you a "true convert", "in Christ", "born again"... or are you just a " good Christian" like all of the Jehovah's Witnesses?

The big difference between Jehovah's Witnesses and Christians is that the Watchtower Society's central core creed proclaims Jesus second coming in October 1914.

They sometimes try to obscure this failed prophecy, and say that he came 'invisibly'.Yes,all other Christains are awaiting Jesus return, the JW say he ALREADY came back in 1914 and is only working through their Watchtower society.

Jehovah's Witnesses have lost membership in all countries with major internet access because their false doctrines and harmful practices are exposed on the modern information superhighway.
The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.

In reply to the post, for those who do not realize why.
Jehovah's witnesses every year plan 1 large convention and 2 smaller ones a year.
There we learn how to conduct ourselves, study the Bible, and receive small tools to help study (books).
We are always encouraged to use our Bibles!!! Quotes from other translations many of the times and learn the true meaning of the Greek words. This helps us stay focus of what Jehovah (Most high God) his Son Jesus has directed for his followers.
Some times the light is not bright enough and as time goes on, a re-adjustment is in order in our thinking on teaching.
Would it not be better to re-adjust then to stand firm on something that may not be correct? Modern Science updates all the time for the benefit or all mankind.
Same with the study of the Bible, sometimes it takes much study and word events to realize that maybe something needs to be looked into again.
What does not change in the encouragement to keep showing love and display the fruitages of the spirit to each other.
Why do we need to be reminded about this? Because family problems, deaths, money, hunger many things that keep our minds off the teaching at times.
We need to always tell our children to play nice and love each other. It is something that all need to be reminded.
In these conventions and local meetings, we are reminded to stay close to the teaching Jesus talked about to his own disciples.
Jesus had to correct his disciple when still on earth to stop fighting among who would replace him when gone. Jesus showed humility by washing all the disciples’ feet!
We as well need to always be humble and not think we are superior then anyone.
Many things the Bible talks about are in a spiritual sense not a physical sense. To just ask a question about medical science does not mean it is understood with out some research.
Sad, some have left Jehovah's organization because of the imperfection of men. Some times it takes time for things to reveal and some have decided they can not wait for things to be revealed out.
(Of course one should never discount the pain one feels, it is their true pain.)
We see this in work places, families, friendships. Our hearts and feelings sometimes just get hurt and imperfection of man comes into play as well.
Those who left, I wonder what kind of conduct they now have or even the thinking of Jehovah God! It is the love of Jehovah that kept us around and brought us to the teachings. We never even knew the men until later.
So, the question I ask many what did our creator do to those that some have left? Is that not maybe our TEST? Did we fail? It many have been our persecution! Is not written you will be persecuted you because of my name? Bible speaks about wolfs in sheep clothing. Could it not be every place and even in high places? We should be alert to this!
Many could ask how our Creator Jehovah still used David to bring the seed (Jesus) down his line, after his great sin of taking a mans wife and sending the husband to the front line knowing he would be killed.
Many accounts in the Bible today are hard to understand but yet look how many still needs to have something in our life to guide us. We need faith as well as works! We do not question air, we can not see it but we know it is there and needed! We have faith everyday it will always be there until faced with a lack of supply! It is not a need to think of it everyday for most!

We are like sheep, and we follow the Sheppard! If not, we could get lost and be devoured by a predator. We can always find fault in everything of man kind, if we want to see imperfection it is all around us. It is looking for the positive that is the hardest thing to do and easier to do.

Wow...You are basing your supposition on a poll?
I think you need to repent of what you have said here.

You need to rethink this. Did the Lord lead you to say that JW's are the best Christians?
What a carnal post. Please, repent of saying this.

Your comment seems like you didn't finish reading the post before commenting. One point is that there are other religions that are out doing the things that we should be doing. The other is that they are not necessarily true Christians just because that is the title they have put on themselves.

You sir are a fraud. The JW' are Christ's true disciples. They worship the same God that Jesus worshipped. They are the ones that follow in Jesus' footsteps as you have well noted. We cannot help if your movement misinterprets John 3 and turns it into a religion.

What to see your version of Christ's disciples?...visit this site:

don't Jehovah witnesses believe that Jesus is an angel? that is unbiblical. jehovah's are not christians as they do not see Jesus as God! Jesus was not an angel. Yes I agree that we should proclaim Jesus more but comparing our beliefs with a truly false doctine is way off base and should not be even excercised. I totally disagree with your post here..

Dear "Getting There",

I do believe you, (as well as most other people) missed the whole point of this post. It is NOT to promote the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Watchtower Organization, which is assuredly a false cult religion... quite the opposite.

I wrote this post to bring to the light the FAILURES of the evangelical church and millions of so-called "Evangelical Christians" in the areas of faithfulness to our CHURCHES, our FAITH, our BIBLICAL MORALS, our GOD,... and our UTTER failure in the area of EVANGELISM.

The JW's call themselves "Christian" (yet are ANTI-CHRIST) and STILL they do the Christian "stuff" more and better than we do... as shown in the Pew Forum study referenced.

A comparison is made ONLY to show you where you have failed in hopes of bringing you to repentance and a new zeal to exhibit some works to go with the faith you say you have.

I see your point Jon and I do undertand where you are coming from. I have recently come out of the charismatic church due to my church being very involved with the lakeland revival.. my name.. getting there.. means I am on a new journey see: my new journey.

However I must include what effective witnessing is. It is not going door to door as anyone and any religion can do that. A real witness is one who lives the life and not just preaches it. My husband came to know God without me having to preach a word. I witnessed silently by lovimg him. Not all people are evangelists, not all are prophets we each have a place where we are in our christian walk. If someone asks me about God, trust me, when that door opens I go in full ball. But I find the JW's form of evangelism very intrusive also. Some can be put off. Love is the main factor, if we can succeed in that, then we are doing what we are called to do. just a thought :)
